WACLV hosts panels with nationally and internationally recognized speakers, including diplomats, politicians, business leaders and military leaders. WACLV annually hosts -through the sponsorship of the Turkish Cultural Foundation and the World Affairs Councils of America- a full day event "Spotlight on Türkiye'' for local middle school and high school social studies teachers that will directly impact over 5000 students in the community.
Spotlight on Türkiye program has being executed in different states in USA. This was the firts time it took place in Las Vegas and it was a success because of amazing effort of the people who were involved. On the other hand, Turkish Cultural Foundation and WACA should be aware of the importance of Las Vegas City and increase the funding dramatically for the future events. Larger funding will help to increase the number of teachers who will be picked for next time and it should be considered as an investment. You can check WACLV website at http://www.waclv.org/ and you can click on the link to read the report about Spotlight on Türkiye. ATA-NV Board

ATA NEVADA officially connects with WACLV (World Affairs Council Las Vegas). As of May 15th 2011 we have became sister organizations in City of Las Vegas and looking forward constructive partnership in several projects.
WACLV has hosted "Spotlight on Türkiye'' on April 2nd 2011 at Charleston campus of the Community Collegeof Southern Nevada. Program was sponsored by the Turkish Cultural Foundation, in cooperation with the Worl Affairc Councils of America. ATA NEVADA was not officially involved with this first event. Event was successfully planned and executed with WACLV and Turkish Las Vegas volunteers. After the event and several meetings between two organizations WACLV President Ms. Annette Whiteside and ATA-NV President Mr. İsmail Onat were agreed that further events should be planned together by both orginizations. Mr. Onat said that Spotlight on Türkiye was a great success as presenting Türkiye yet we should have more Turkish Las Vegans notified about such events and get them involved. Group of volunteered Turks put so much effort on presentation of Türkiye and we are proud of the result.
