Demonstrators in Istanbul gathered last week at Taksim Gezi Park to protest peacefully against the government's attempts to demolish one of the few green public spaces at the heart of the city. Despite the non-violent spirit of the movement, the police resorted to violent action and extreme force using tear gas and water cannons. Reactions of the police have caused protests in other cities, including the capital Ankara. As members of the Turkish community in Reno, we censure the brutality of Turkish police and support the right to peacefully protest.

It has begun a year ago... ATA NV has processed over 1000 books and distributed to the world since Fall 2011. In Summer 2011, we have received an email in our "IdeaBox" from ATA NV member Nancy Wood. She was asking about if ATA NV would involve with a project about collecting books and distributing them in a different way. Then... We gave the leading role to Mrs. Wood on this amazing project!
